@lardmotel @rasur Sure, but my point was the similarity, viz. a band that is effectively dead can be brought out through a seance, or, in the case of Revell & Son, in the form of a spectre. (Come to think of it, in essence Kraftwerk have been doing that for at least 20 years, but never conceptualized it as such. Difference being in their case it’s a zombie flick rather than a ghost flick.)

Why are Arturia doing the Memorymoog years after Cherry Audio did it? Just like they were way behind CA on doing the Synthex? Both of which CA charge less than half for… I’m so bored now. I really liked Arturia.

@lardmotel Yeah I get all that, but I was viewing it squarely in terms of if we’re going to have emulations (not saying we need them), then let’s have something new. (I view emulations largely as a sort of virtual museum for nerds – what was it like to use these things? It’s a bit autistic, like it’s synths for me rather than trains.) As for CA, I think they oughta do more like Sines etc, yes.

@lardmotel All in German is a SELLING POINT. Makes half the thing.The same team’s follow-up, 1899, seemed really promising – and went for MULTI-lingual – but cancelled due to not enough viewers in the first few weeks. Guess streaming services (or their shareholders) never heard of sleeper hits… 😑

@lardmotel While Swedish puts me a bit closer to German, I never had lessons, so rely 90% on subtitles. But the sound of it, and the whole cultural vibe, adds to the atmosphere. (We’re used to subtitles here – it’s why the average degree of English proficiency here is so high.)

@lardmotel @flying_pyjamas @MaxCorp I think Halloween makes most sense in Northern Europe, where it’s dark, foggy, and chilly that time of year. It’s got quite big in Sweden (when I was a kid in the 80s it was ”Hallowhatnow?”), with pumpkins and skeletons galore. Yay!
