       Most of the time old LPs were reproduced as a CD before later going online.        @lardmotel I have a hard time dissociating this album from the CD format; I reckon it was my very first SevHeads purchase, after initially renting it from the Monash Uni CD shop and deciding it was a keeper.

       @cos I guess the container is a valuation, and in 2026 vinyl is still the sign that somebody is prepared to finance an expensive object. I don't know how long this era will last.

       @lardmotel Just curious (as I have the original CD + the sevcom CD-R and don’t give two rotten shits for vinyl), but what was the rationale for putting ”Finder” after ”Goodbye”? (Do I have to buy the vinyl to read the explanation in the liner notes? 🤔)

       @jakobw Forgive if I am a bit vague as the audio was produced a year ago (vinyl takes time) and I’m not at home. The version of Finder on the LP is an original version that was dropped from the album. The sides on vinyl must be less than 20 min so it was slotted in that spot to keep side A in the limit.

       @cos @lardmotel The idea that listening to Black Sabbath or Fleetwood Mac or something is “more authentic” on vinyl (found in one’s parents’ record collection or bought at a flea market) than CD or Spotify or whatever seems to have mutated into the idea that listening to anything (Nirvana, Autechre, breakcore mashups made on a Windows 98 PC and originally burned to CD-R) on vinyl is inherently more authentic because, unlike CDs and MP3s, vinyl records have souls.
