Two broken plastic tabs on dishwasher. To fix: $320 in parts. Sigh, trying hard to avoid the sunk cost fallacy, but I like keeping the old girl working. When an appliance otherwise does its job well, I don't want to risk buying a newer, even cheaper model.

Last appliance I bought new was a dehumidifier (to replace an 25+ year old Kenmore tank whose replacement humidstat was unavailable). The new dehumidifier lasted a couple years.

What's the best way to tell SMS and voice spammers/bots to fuck off? A simple 'fuck off' seems insufficient. It doesn't give them pain like their actions give me.At some point, we need to disable SMS so we can at least shut down that pathway into our lives.

Has there been a recent change to X that disallows watching (and hearing) videos in a browser without logging in? When trying to watch from links here in mastodon, I keep getting prompts to install the app, whereas I've watched many videos in the past.
