@mike 1) You have a small spelling error: "Google is *seaking* to resolve that situation..." (seeking)2) I'm with you on seeing how Parallels handles this promise. They're quite nice with their MacOS VM software, and the seamless Windows integration is well done on that platform. It'll be interesting to see hardware that can handle such a task, as well.

@Ricardus @art Macs are moving to ARM processors. Apple-made ARM processors, at that.

@kev Hey, I just noticed that whatever you're using in your blog for ligatures isn't working on Gnome Web. For instance, every time "profile" is mentioned in the headers, "fi" isn't displayed. Thought you might want to know about the bug.

@kev Firefox and Chromium work fine, I can tell you that much. Firefox on Windows shown here.I'll see if I can figure out what's going on, and submit a bug report to Gnome Web if it's on their end.

@mike @PINE64 If it's the Lenovo X1 Carbon, it doesn't look too difficult to replace. Just removing some screws and lifting the keyboard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHOjWRQ_cUY

@mike @PINE64 As an aside, I really miss the days of hot-swappable batteries in mainstream laptops. I value my Dell Latitude E1505 and Inspiron E6430 quite a bit for that reason alone. The latter also has a dock, which I love using.

@mike First link is screwed up. Looks like Wikipedia's use of parens in a link made the Markdown parsing a little wonky. That said, I agree with everything you wrote. The federated nature of the Fediverse makes it much safer in this type of light.

@mikestone Was this a high-current charging phone or something? I've never seen a USB cable do that, and I kinda want to make sure I never do.

@snowdusk @claudiom They've said it will, and I believe that much from them. If Apple's good at one thing, it's keeping something to help ease a transition. Probably only for a couple versions of MacOS, though.

@kev I never got IndieWeb support working on anything I tried, so I gave up a while ago. That said, kudos for adding a guestbook. I miss seeing more of them. Now you just need a webring, topsites page, banner exchange... </sarcasm>
