This is my biggest complaint about this laptop. I'm not sure the battery on the X1 Carbon is something that can be swapped out (easily). I might have to look into it though, especially if @PINE64 doesn't ship me out my #PineTab here soon!

@mike @PINE64 If it's the Lenovo X1 Carbon, it doesn't look too difficult to replace. Just removing some screws and lifting the keyboard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHOjWRQ_cUY

@mike @PINE64 As an aside, I really miss the days of hot-swappable batteries in mainstream laptops. I value my Dell Latitude E1505 and Inspiron E6430 quite a bit for that reason alone. The latter also has a dock, which I love using.

@techbalion It is the Lenovo X1 Carbon, but it's a Gen1, which means it's about 8 years old. A new battery isn't super expensive (about $55 American), but not sure it's worth it for an 8 year old machine. While I really like the form factor of this system, I do miss having swappable batteries. It sure made things simple back then.

@mike Have you tried to recalibrate it?

@mike @techbalion do you know of any laptops where hot swappable batteries are a feature today? I’m fed up with the built in obsolescence I see in modern products. Thanks to Linux’s lightweight footprint it seems like the actual machines should be able to support the OS from a performance perspective for far longer than they would macOS or Windows. It’s only the battery that would become an issue over time.
