@StillIRise1963 I first learned about Japanese internment camps by reading about it in a Baby-Sitters Club book! Claudia’s grandmother has a stroke and starts talking about her experiences in one. We did discuss it in school when I was a high school student. I don’t remember if it was taught before that or not.

@grammargirl I think the worst thing about these paid verification schemes is that it’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what verification was for, at least on Twitter. It was literally just confirmation that this is the person they say they are. This is the real LeVar Burton, etc.

@grammargirl I've never stopped masking indoors in public. My 86 year old grandmother got COVID this month. The urgent care didn't even test her for it, and said she had "some virus that's going around". Someone else in her home tested positive, and that's when she got tested and we found out that she actually had COVID.

@grammargirlI'm suspicious about any article that targets a young generation that's moving into adulthood. I'm an early millennial myself.This article doesn't seem to disparage Gen Z, though.They may write their emails to each other like this, but I'm sure they still know how to "formal" it up for an older audience if they need to. They know how to talk to their parents.

@grammargirl March 11, 2020 was our last “normal” day. I have pictures of my daughter at her dance class. Everything started closing up the next day.

@ml I use Synology's DDNS service to get around not having a static IP. That service is tied to having a Synology NAS, but there are definitely others. I've heard DuckDNS mentioned.

@ilja @ml Actually, that's similar to how I use ddns. The service runs on my NAS, not on my router. The service by Synology gives me a subdomain I can use to point to my NAS. I use that subdomain to set up CNAME or alias records with my domain registrar(pork bun). Usually CNAME records are what I use.
