Three years ago yesterday, I wrote on my calendar "Pat got coughed on."He went out for a quick lunch, and a woman sat down at a table very close next to him and started hacking up a lung. He immediately left, but we were so worried—counting the days until he could be in the clear.#Pandemiversary

@grammargirl 3/13 was our last "normal" day before lockdowns. Took kid to outdoor museum; had fun; felt a great deal of apprehension about the future.

@grammargirl I am doing conversional English tutoring with some Ukrainians. We almost always spend part of time working on idioms during our sessions.

@grammargirl I still hate when people cough near me. I know it's sometimes just allergies--or asthma for a few of my relatives (one of my nieces coughs a lot with her asthma flare ups), but it makes me feel so panicky now. I also hate figuring it out for myself--like today wondering if my son brought a cold home from school or if it's just my allergies acting up this morning. I just minimize my time in the public and wear a mask either way, but it's still so stressful.

@grammargirl I remember walking in a corridor in my doctor's office building at the start of the pandemic, and a woman behind me was coughing really really hard. I almost started running, trying to escape the clouds of virus she was surely emitting. I took a different route out of the building later, avoiding that hallway.

@grammargirl March 11, 2020 was our last “normal” day. I have pictures of my daughter at her dance class. Everything started closing up the next day.
