       @grammargirl I don't think every podcast needs to be on youtube; I do sometimes appreciate the auto-captioning and, hey, the associating faces with voices.Of course, that last part could be done on any video (or even photo) platform; doesn't have to be youtube.

       @grammargirl Ha! I watch the videos from the Haunted Objects podcast. Every so often one of the hosts will say something like "If you're a listener, you can't see what's on the desk right now" and then goes on to describe it. The videos are recorded when they tape the podcast (which came first, actually).So yeah, I watch a podcast.

       @grammargirl I'm not a fan of video, especially when it comes to podcasts. I'm usually listening to them while on my treadmill, driving or doing yard work - places where video is a pointless distraction. 🤷‍♂️

       @grammargirl Video podcasts (vidcasts?) never really took off. I think mostly because podcasts, like radio before them, allowed people to do other things while listening and still get something from the experience. Video almost requires one to give full attention to the video, which not a lot of people have the time or ability to do.

       @grammargirl I think it's partly because "youtube video" never got a short, sticky name like "podcast". When you said "(vidcast?}" earlier, it just didn't feel right, did it? Even "twitch stream" feels better.
