@Azure Does that come up much? I don't see a lot of folks in favor of execution. I see a disturbing number of people who openly support the tradition of prison rape as a part of the punishment and revenge fantasy, though. They don't want it fixed. They see it as a feature and not a bug. Bleh.

@Azure Ah yes, admittedly with the circles I travel in, I see minority folks calling for genocide way more than others.They say when you've been abused, you tend to define power as the way you were abused, and often folks end up doing the same things to others.I keep thinking about the people whose decendants founded the British Empire, modern folks favorite Bad Guys.These days, when I see someone hurting people, after I stop it I often ask "Who hurt you?" to the abuser. :/

I've noticed a lot of folks seem to take a destructive attitude to things they oppose, and I think mine is usually different.Rather than wanting to destroy my 'enemy' or whatever, I want to help them see things my way, and get out of the trouble they're in.This manifests a lot in political stuff, especially for friends here in Canada, or down in the U.S. Sometimes other countries.Folks want their opposing party to fail and be ruined and crash and burn.

That's not great though, since they're part of your society and community. They're gonna crash and burn using your plane, on your land, in this stretched out hypothetical.It's better to help them change and become better, than to try and punish and destroy them for being bad.In that regard, you might consider joining a political party. You also might consider joining one that opposes you, and help them change!

So many folks are so quick to leave bad places, bad groups, but then there's nobody to change things. I see people who look at someone, see they're a member of some group, and figure "If they don't support x bad thing, they wouldn't be in that group with people who do!" and it's like, there's every chance they're trying to get those people out of that group as much as those people are trying to get rid of them, and they want to promote change.

A lot of the worst groups in the world today, and places too, were really nice and then some folks were bad, others left, and nobody remained to counter the bad stuff.You can do that! It's kinda weird that I could spend my effort making services and tools to enable others to make stuff...But _I_ want to make stuff.I think there are people out there who are doing support because they like it, not bcause they're desperate to make money or because they're "Taking one for the team.", but I do wish there were more and doing more.In particular, it would be nice to have some sort of way to send money internationally that wasn't socially conservative.

@Azure Yeah, the whole "You can trade funds without trusting the other person!" was a big selling point, because people don't trust eachother anymore.It's great for crimes and money laundering, which sounds bad if you forget that sodomy is a crime in many places, and sex work is often punished even where it's not criminalized anymore...I heard thaat Etherium switched to a different 'proof of work' that is less pollutey, but I don't know what it is?

I just got an email from my telecom, Telus, with the subject "Arthur, you’re pretty unique. Let’s keep it that way."That feels really... threatning. And aggressive?It's actually an ad for a service they're trying to sell me. Identity theft protection, powered by Norton of all companies...We all know about Mouseland voting for cats, but this is kind of a step beyond? Like, they're teaming up with the robbers to make protection rackets more efficient for the end user/mark/victim.

@Azure Yeah I didn't want to suggest that they lived up to that claim, but that's what people wanted it to be, and what they claim it is or is supposed to be.I guess it's like politics, where those liberals aren't very liberal and those conservatives aren't very conservative, and if they're not breaking promises they're doing the exact opposite of their promise just to rub it in. ^.^;;Money itself is such a surreal thing. It's all fake, not just crypto. Even the "Gold Standard" was fake.

@Azure Maybe? I don't know if they have to. A lot of those businesses are in foriegn countries, so they don't have to do anything locally, while the countries getting the spam have to do multi-national policing actions in foriegn countries, usually India...

I said about it months ago now, but my friend Wontoon did end up homeless, and is still homeless. Thankfully, they do have a minimum wage job and they've been able to live out of a motel or something.They're pretty reliable and nice. @aby I'm not sure if racism is a thing you do or a thing you intend, but I suppose there's a lot of folks working with different definitions these days.My primary beef is that they're upholding the owner-class's grip on all the people despite being in our 'class'. Folks call them class traitors as a result, and I think that fits. We might be able to settle the violent and dangerous racism if folks weren't being pitted against one another in a divide and conquer manuver.

I hear bad stuff's goin' down with Evernote.If you're looking for an alternative, I've been using Joplin for that task. It's mostly good, except the android app doesn't work right on my phone anymore. Very frustrating, and I don't know why.It's open source and it'll get better the more it's nurtured, so I hope bringing it more attention will make it better over time!The best feature is that it has end-to-end encryption, and you can use any cloud privately. I have my notes on Dropbox.

@soulfire I heard they fired most of their staff, but I don't know for sure or any details. It's a rumor from me, so take it as a reason to investigate if it's important to you. ^.^I don't use Evernote so I just took advantage of the rumor to promote an open source alternativve I like. <3
