       I would like a lot of online left-ish discourse a lot more if it treated executions as more morally problematic than bitcoin.I'm not defending bitcoin by any means, but on the scale of moral obscenities, the idea that it's acceptable to ritually kill someone who's safely confined for emotional gratification is way above it.

       @Azure Does that come up much? I don't see a lot of folks in favor of execution. I see a disturbing number of people who openly support the tradition of prison rape as a part of the punishment and revenge fantasy, though. They don't want it fixed. They see it as a feature and not a bug. Bleh.

       @Azure Ah yes, admittedly with the circles I travel in, I see minority folks calling for genocide way more than others.They say when you've been abused, you tend to define power as the way you were abused, and often folks end up doing the same things to others.I keep thinking about the people whose decendants founded the British Empire, modern folks favorite Bad Guys.These days, when I see someone hurting people, after I stop it I often ask "Who hurt you?" to the abuser. :/

       @Azure @relee I feel like the guillotine thing is generally not meant to be taken literally, it's just a reference to the French revolution. But I don't particularly want to find out if most leftists who call for guillotines mean it purely figuratively.
