@NotAWeeb if the "pro-ice" was not itself inflammatory, i wonder what sort of legal BS they'd come up with to claim it wasn't self-defense. I think i've heard a hyptohetical like if you have a big screen tv in a window that's always visible from the street you can't claim self defense if someone breaks in to steal it or somethingbut that may have been dumbasses in california that wouldn't know a castle if it had jousting matches and a turkey dinner in it

@ArmchairEconomist01 it isn't worth $1mil either. I grew up in a house similar to that, and it was $35k in 70s, and $250k in 2005ish, and probably $800k last year.that house is probably worth about $120,000 assuming everything is perfect and there's no crime and ...but then again, my house cost $35k in 2013 and i just paid for it and it's fine. it keeps the ice and sun out.

@CSB they usually base that on the amount and style of signage that the protesters are carrying. If it looks like most of them came out of the back of a moving van, then it's fair to assume someone paid for all of them to be printed and assembled and transported to the "front" and distributed.Even if the "someone" is "the collective against tyranny" or something, it's still organized.

@brennx0r anytime i need something i go in to town, which is an ordeal anyhow, and look for it. people at the shops go "oh, you can get it on amazon?" and i say "i prefer to try and spend my money locally..." with a weird look on my face because why would some part supplier or retailer *ever* tell a customer that? Maybe "oh check with bob at bob's part's on robert street, he might have those"i hear it more from random people/family, and i have to remind them that i try local first
