       @tuxicoman What is the default Grapheneos app? With com.android.messaging (the AOSP app) on Replicant, I have not seen such issue. I am also using MAXS to send/receive SMS via XMPP from a PC.

       @redstarfish While fediverse may sound good in English, unfortunately the French version of it &quot;fedivers&quot; sounds exactly like &quot;fait divers&quot; (literally &quot;diverse facts&quot;&#39;), a wording used to refer to news like burglary, violence, murder of no public significance published in a newspaper. So not a very appealing name.

       @tuxicoman Oui ça a disparu. Dans F-Droid archive, il y a IceCatMobile basé sur Firefox 68.4.2 (vieux mais sans les ajouts de logiciel privateur de Firefox) où c&#39;est possible.

       @tykayn @Phipe @tuxicoman En créant un compte Mozilla, on faire une collection d&#39;extensions du site Mozilla, sans restriction, et en activant les options dévelopeur (toucher le logo dans &quot;à propos&quot; 5 fois), on peut référencer la collection (le &quot;user ID&quot; est le nombre dans l&#39;URL de la collection, ça se trouve pas tout seul) et on peut toutes les installer. Cela dit, je recommande Mull de F-Droid plutôt que Firefox (morceaux privateurs éliminés).

       @obsolete29 For more than 1 year, I have been running radicale on https://www.freedombox.org/buy/ for CardDAV and CalDaV and I am connected to it on computers (Gnome Evolution or Thunderbird) and mobile phones (DavX). No admin work so far.

       @nerdtronics @PublicLewdness One reason why the FSF does not endorse OpenBSD is that OpenBSD distributes firmaware that are not open source. The OpenBSD folks reply to this by criticizing the FSF but they agree that these firmwares are not open source. the disagreement is on whether it is ok to distribute the non-open source firmware or not.

       @avalos Do you know any useful comparison between running your own searx instance and other ways to ensure privacy, like using tor browser to search? Asking because a searx instance is a lot more work to install and maintain than just using tor browser, and it is also not clear to me how privacy is enhanced exactly.

       @w96k On Trisquel, I was using fvwm and stalonetray (I don&#39;t like to have a panel that take the whole screen height of width), I just tried fvwm with Mate using mate-panel instead of stalonetray, it works well. I have the Mate environment but I can control the mate-panel with fvwm like any window. I like fvwm for its configurability (a bit complex but powerful) and the FvwmPager that allows me to see and arrange all windows across and within pages, it advantageously replaces window list/bar.

       @w96k Thanks. I just read about ratpoison, the non-overlapping frames with maximized windows looks nice. I also use emacs and keyboard shortcuts a lot so I&#39;ll certainly give ratpoison a try. I am just wondering whether I can find something similar to the FvwmPager to see a kind of map of windows in all pages, using multiple workspaces without that is a pain.

       @rtfm @ademalsasa @Jami @mikesixgolf I can edit messages from GNU/Linux but not from android. There are issues that I sometimes solved by changing a conversation to a swarm. You could raise your issues at https://forum.jami.net. My Jami ID is divadlo if you want to do some testing.

       @eloquence I do appreciate the GNU philosophy website, I found nothing else as insightful. I view what you call pedantry as educational. I notice that the majority of people I know who say they &quot;use Linux&quot; don&#39;t care at all that it is free software and are happy to promote proprietary software. That makes me not want to call the whole system I use &quot;Linux&quot;. I prefer GNU/Linux to promote the GNU philosophy.

       @eloquence The GNU project is about making a system to do anything that is entirely free software in a world where copyright laws are being used against that. As the Linux kernel is being used for systems such as Android that are mostly used to promote massive adoption of proprietary software, I feel it is essential to tell people more clearly the kind of system I am talking about. I&#39;d rather not spend my energy for people enthusiastic about Linux who don&#39;t care about free software.

       @tuxicoman @nicoco Sympa mais j&#39;ai rompu avec WhatsApp il y a plusieurs années déjà donc je ne vais pas jouer avec ça. Ceux qui ne font pas l&#39;effort d&#39;utiliser jabber peuvent m&#39;envoyer un mail (quand ils veulent vraiment me contacter, ils le font).
