Interesting how so many liberal american women are pointing to Trump as the cause of this, but they will ignore these faults of Biden, just like liberals did on the race card for the election. Men are sometimes surprised by my love of Halloween and disdain for horror movies/houses. I never liked the sexualization of Halloween, never liked being scared. What I do love about Halloween is the seasons changing, the harvest, the tradition. I never liked the witches being portrayed as ugly and green with worts, but I did grow up enjoying Harry Potter, Halloweentown, Twitches, Sabrina, Practical Magic, and so many other stories this time of year

@Spring @extremebirdnerd I think the video hits the nail on the head - how can I forgive if they aren’t willing to admit that they were wrong with disastrous consequences. I certainly won’t forget what my university, doctors, and workplace put me through. It’s certainly not over if they’re adding it to the list of immunizations for schoolchildren, it’s not over when my coworkers are still getting boosters (and more often now getting sick or injured because of it - though they haven’t realized it).

@extremebirdnerd @Spring For the universities, check on medical or religious exemptions. I was manipulated into getting the original series at my uni but after feeling the effects I got my NP to sign off on a medical exemption for when they tried to mandate the first booster. Some uni’s religious exemption forms are super easy to fill out, you just do it yourself. That’s of course if you’re willing to pay a uni with such a stupid mandate at all! I would think that maybe some down south in the US are not mandating it. And yes, agree it’s ridiculous in doctor’s offices. My company has not mandated it but is continuing self-testing (on an honor basis), but the building we’re in wasn’t so nice - they only stopped their vaccine proof or 2x tests weekly with photo proof app nonsense back in July.

I hate working in a city. I hate the commute, I hate the traffic. I hate all the gender inclusive, trans bullshit I’m forced to swallow. I hate the signs on the bathroom doors. I hate the damn policies about vaccination and testing that suddenly disappeared and I hate that people are continuing it all even though it’s not required anymore. I hate that people assume you have the same stupid opinion as them and talk freely in a workplace about things that are political. I hate being exhausted from keeping my mouth shut all the time.

@LadyMont @MandyJane One of the things I find sad/hilarious is that these people are taking all the symptoms that may or may not come with a period and calling that the period. Which to me is crazy because every time I have practically any symptom and I google it, the internet tells me it could be related to my menstrual cycle, could be pregnant, could have a cold, could have cancer or some obscure condition… like symptoms apply to so many different things that’s part of what makes “what’s wrong with me” as a woman such a fun guessing game…these people would get a cramp from jogging and be like “oh my period came early!”

The thing I still don’t understand is why we are fighting for words like woman but won’t fight for words like feminism. I can see that woman is more entwined with legal and safety points, but we have those things because of feminism. I see so many women saying they no longer identify with feminism, and they always cite 3rd wave “feminism” as the reason. But do we no longer say we support civil rights because of BLM or gay rights because of trans ideology? Has the definition of feminism really changed because it’s been co-opted like so many other things today? Are we not anti-fascist because of groups like ANTIFA? Idk, I get where women are coming from with it but also I don’t. People have always hated feminism, people have always tried to call it something else to gain favor (“humanist” etc.). If we’re defending truth, emphasizing the importance of women’s rights and that words have meaning, why is feminism being left behind?

@HebrideanHecate There is a growing anti-solar farm vibe in my area as people watch wealthy out of staters buying up large remaining forest areas and once local farms and clear cutting to install solar farms, which will not go to powering the local communities. Where we once saw a misty field where food was grown, forest with wild turkeys roaming, is now gravel lots. It is very interesting as a lot of the community residents have added solar to their own homes but when they see it destroying the local beauty it loses its charm quickly. Lots of lawsuits as developers are claiming it is a “farm” to get around the town’s zoning laws. But of course it’s not really true to what was intended
