I'm seeing in a Spanish blog how people is complaining about the subscription model and how people are getting tired about that, especially because the fucking Adobe want you to pay a subscription for a fucking pdf rotation. Richard Stallman predicted this shitty model in 2004 aprox. Once again RMS was right.

@iron_bug I honestly don't mind if people do stupid shits and only affect those people, the thing is people do stupid shits and it affects all of us and then when we want things back we can't. For example, I was struggling when I wanted to find a "dumb" TV, because everybody sells a fucking "smart tv" filled with ads and trackers. Why did happen? Because a manufactures though it would be a great idea and many people bought then.

@iron_bug @bonifartius I agree and I also believe there are things much worse than dead, for example there are accidents so bad that can make you something like a veggie and I honestly prefer to die instead of being a veggie.

@TheFreePenguin I'm not sure if I want the "best" approach especially if the embedded content is tracker and other surveillance crap. At least I can block that content from the client.

@Wyndix Public domain is the ideal in my opinion. The thing is many People and companies are just Evil and that is why we need copyleft to at least try to make sure The knowledge Will be available for everyone.

@roygreenhilt Don't mix Gnome's fools with other communities. It's not The first time Gnome breaks things and they don't give a shit what happen with others.

@iron_bug @roygreenhilt I believe exactly the same. That alliance between Gnome, systemd and Red Hat have only bad intentions.

@redstarfish Many people don't care about free/libre software but they care open source and many people like open source only because is free/gratis. Many people even think than free/libre software is The same as open source and there are differences.

@sotolf @wwwgem @paul @hq1 In my opinion I see two problems in wayland:1. It's supposed to be the future but It's almost 14 years old. 2. As I understand there are different client-side implementations on the protocol (KDE, Gnome and Sway) and at the moment they are working together but there is a Risk where we might have problems like "This software works in KDE but not in Gnome"PS: I am a Sway user.

I know I am a person who complains a lot but I'm so sick of many companies calling me to work with them and when I say my salary they say "It's too much and we cannot offer the same but we can offer you a "bit less" and other benefits". I know everything shouldn't be money but many companies don't know all the knowledge I have and all the effort I've had to get that knowledge and I still believe my salary is not enough because I believe technical jobs positions are so underated.

@iron_bug Compared to other professional careers IT is quite well paid but I didn't mean that. I complain because It's like I reached the limit of money I can earn as a tech person and if I want to get more I had to become a boss or directive. But in many countries I've seen the lack of IT people and a tech guy with three bosses. It's like a inverse pyramid.

@jrwren I don't know if I misunderstood the article but Putting telemetry on "open source" projects it's not well seen. I don't have technical opinions about Go because I never wanted to try it mainly because Google was behind them.In my opinion telemetry craps shouldn't be allowed but if they put telemetry anyway it must always be "opt-in" instead of "opt-out". I don't like the way big techs are trying to put their spywares on floss the same way they are used to which their proprietary craps.

@nicemicro @matrix @devhonk I believe permissive licenses are much more libre than copyleft. Sadly in the real world many companies use this to get development for free. That's why those companies loves going on floss projects telling their developers to change their licenses to permissive ones because copyleft one are more difficult to exploit.

@niclas @nicemicro @matrix @devhonk Copyleft licenses might be a problem for developers because they "lose" control of the software that's why many people say permissive licenses are developer-sidd and copyleft licenses are customer-side. I don't judge people who use permissive license I judge companies who do those kind of shit to floss projects.

As a Sway user I am, I believe this article is right:https://dudemanguy.github.io/blog/posts/2022-06-10-wayland-xorg/wayland-xorg.htmlThe problem with Wayland is a protocol with is supposed to be "the future" but it's old right now. There is also another problem, there could be many apps that can work on Sway but not in Gnome and vice-versa because an app can support only mutter and not wlroots for example. I don't know if it happens now but there is a risk.
