So, I just launched a new website! It's DeckCentral.net, the objective is to hopefully collect useful tip, tricks and tutorials to help new Deck/Linux desktop users make the most out of their systems.I've got a couple of articles out already, but feel free to suggest any topic that you'd like to see me cover, plus feel free to contribute your articles via GitLab using simple merge requests.Available at https://deckcentral.net

Alright, update on the Feeds situation: I went ahead and bundled webkit. It's gonna be a substantial download, but it's finally out!I've been itching to release this 1.0 for a long time, since it's so much better than the previous version: #gtk4 and #libadwaita, but also the very necessary cleanups and improvements, plus the new backend built on top of syndication-domination, the small #cpp library I made to parse rss/atom/opml and a little html as well.Coming VERY soon on #flathub 😁

@martijnbraam Interesting thoughts, I think there's room to talk about it. I love the new libadwaita look, but I can understand your point and I think there's something to it.Not sure what the right direction forward would be here, tho.

@calebccff an acquaintance of mine recently got covid, they are in their 60 and got three vaccine shots, and all they got was a mild but a bit persistent cold. If you've got your shots you might just be lucky enough to get through it without much trouble.

Would you daily drive a Linux distro like Silverblue or Steam OS 3, with an immutable root file system and apps only available through Flatpak and Appimage?

@OpenComputeDesign well, live cds aren't really immutable, they just lack persistence, meaning that every time you boot them up all the changes you made and work you haven't saved in some external storage are gone.It can be perceived as similar, but it's conceptually and functionally different. You can install apps and save documents seamlessly in an immutable root OS, but not in a live cd.

My current phone is dieing and I need to buy a new one, which is something I hate.I'm looking for suggestions for something with proper support for lineageos without gapps, and that would possibly leave the door open to install a proper linux distro like pmos or similar.I don't care how old the phone is, but support for 5g is preferred (since apparently mobile carriers are phasing out their 4g network for no reason).Boosts appreciated.

I'm looking for a "static site generator" in the purest sense of the term.In particular, I'm looking for something where I can write HTML and use templating tags to include partials in multiple pages, like a header, footer, etc.staticjinja was almost good, but it seems kinda abandoned and the way it's set up to work with static files is weird. And I'm not looking for something to make blogs, I need something general purpose.

@OpenComputeDesign you know, sandisk sansa clips are a thing, they are cheap and they can run rockbox (free software firmware replacement).I never had one, but I know that there are many that like it.

@martijnbraam I had the same thing happen to mine. Instead of replacing the whole headphone, I scraped the faux leather of the headband and bought a generic headband cover, fresh pads and cable. Finally the hinge broke, right now it's holding together with zip ties, but I know I can buy replacement hinges as well. This said, I did buy a new pair of dt 770 pros, and they're quite better than the m50x.

@martijnbraam Funny how we all collectively orbit around the same products! That's fine tho, audio is a very personal thing

@neglesaks All of the above! Funnily enough I find myself buying google phones to have the best possible google-free android experience. Hopefully Linux phones will become more viable in the close future.
