       @neglesaks I stay away from anything other than Apple and Google, since they actually implement reasonable security for their devices. Plus the added benefit of Google Pixels being able to use GrapheneOS.

       @itzzenxx @neglesaks Personally I prefer to avoid both Apple and Google. Actually, when I pick my phone, I look if it has community support and ROMs to install first, to remove any useless stuff that's usually preinstalled and then I buy the phone. I don't even install any GApps anymore, because I'm fine with using alternatives that function similarly and respect the end user.

       @neglesaks I voted #apple, and I am also certain to stay away from #huawei because I had a device from them where the bootloader was locked and they didn't want to give me the password. I had to take it to the repair shop before I could install a custom ROM.

       @neglesaks All of the above! Funnily enough I find myself buying google phones to have the best possible google-free android experience. Hopefully Linux phones will become more viable in the close future.
