@kemonine For me building the electronics and programming the controller / ui are the fun parts, even if it sometimes bends my mind. I always struggle with the casing and other non-electronic hardware. Maybe I don’t have the right tools.. (I really need to fight my gear acquisition syndrome) 😂

@kemonine What stuck in my mind to explain biometrics: it’s only useful to disallow access (like for a casual snoop) but not for authentication of a identity.So it’s more like a pre shared key ;)

@kemonine oh, definitely. IMHO biometrics are only useful in the “damn I lost my phone in public transport” and not in the “no, mr policeman, I wont’t give you access, sir” kind of situation.

@kemonine I do use both. Biometrics are so nice and easy for everyday use. But if I’m traveling (especially across borders) or I’m going even near a protest march I disable biometrics.

@kemonine I try to skip the US since a couple of years ;) For occasions where there is an unexpected encounter with the police, I use the emergency function of my iPhone: not only will this call for help but it will also disable biometric identification.

@martin mir persönlich gefällt die Schreibweise mit einem Trema ( ï ). Ist relativ nah am genetischen Femininum, unterbricht den Lesefluss kaum und beim sprechen wird ein kurzer „Stolperer“ eingebaut wie beim Binnen-I oder Binnen-*Jedoch ziehe ich einen geschlechtsneutralen Begriff vor, da er umfassender ist.

@zdfheute @mahaDer Marktanteil von iOS in Deutschland liegt unter 25%, der Großteil der App-Nutzer sind jedoch auf iOS. Wäre es im Sinne der Verbreitung der App nicht sinnvoller die Frage zu stellen, wie man Android Nutzer relativ moderner Geräte dazu bewegen kann die App zu verwenden? Nicht, dass ich die Idee einer Subventionierung für Neugeräte für bestimmte Gruppen nicht charmant finde, doch ich glaube die Aktion würde in die gleiche Nutzungsverteilung laufen, die schon beobachtet wird.
