2/2@SuperDicq Yes, they animated all of this by hand, so doing the whole thing would be very hard, time-consuming and expensive. It's just as if they knew something while doing the original and went with CGI for this reason...Also in later Initial D seasons there were manually animated technical scenes, and they were fine.

@SuperDicq @lanodan In most CIS counrties I know the rules are the same, but using the horn in any other context will result in nothing at all.So I've recently had a guy honking under my window rushing his friend to get out and into his car. At 3AM. Cool!

@SuperDicq as always: it depends. If you just stand at it — that's a knee destruction speedrun. The idea is either a treadmill or changing between sitting and standing throughout a day.

@snacks @SuperDicqOpenai api call "you are an if statement. Choose 1 value to return based on the input. Do not hallucinate. The return value must be spelled out in a vocaloid voice."

@BrodieOnLinux I recently came across this gem of originality in a book.

@SuperDicq @benthor @jae As far as I looked into it, either only or the majority of the "blobs" are the waveforms for the screen. And they are not even code, not executed, so I can live with them being present on a separate partition for the FOSS driver to look at.Anyway after a year thousands of km away from my paper book closet, the withdrawal was too close to killing me. This is the most free one for the foreseeable future, as no e-ink manufacturer shares their waveforms.

@benthor @SuperDicq @jae It doesn't cost a ton of money actually. Kindle Scribe in comparable configuration (still half the storage) costs more alone, and by the time you add all of the accessories included with a $400 Pinenote you are over $600 for Amazon. And you don't get any freedom for that price.

@SuperDicq @benthor @jae Bootloader is uboot, there is no modem, wi-fi/bt driver is in mainline Linux. A firmware blob is required though, just checked.https://pine64.org/documentation/PineNote/_full/#mainline-developmentAnyway, a completely free device is great, but without it the most free available will have to do, as I need _a_ device to read that does not glow.

@SuperDicq Educational media is not entertainment and is often necessary for work. Yet sometimes you can't play it because you have the "wrong" equipment, or bexause of borders again. Even though you have paid the rightful owner their due.

@SuperDicq That isn't. But forbidding me from enjoying the media based on my current location and the location the media was "intended" for — is.

@SuperDicq I purposefully avoided the topic of enforcement, as it, indeed, bleeds into software.I am only saying that the part that needs enforcement — region locks among them — are bullshit already.Bypassing this enforcement is possible and usually easy, but that id illegal. Copyright owners will scream that me using my lawfully obtained licensed copy of the media for noncommercial purpuses in a wrong country is PIRACY. That is BS, but still technically illegal.

@SuperDicq This is called "investment". Not vibe coding, just putting money (time, social connections, etc.) into your job to get more out later. Some people prefer this approach, because it doesn't tie them to their current employer. Employers paying for e.g. tech courses often has strings attached, like "you will work here for at least half a year after you finish the course we payed for or pay us back for it."

@BrodieOnLinux I think most of these people are just being abrasively pedantic. They are right that AI doesn't exist, but LLMs, Stable Diffusion and other forms of Machine Learning do. Would be pretty weird to deny existence of those, almost like denying that the Earth is round...

@BrodieOnLinux Why wouldn't you ever leave Australia? I thought that was the goal of that game. Spawn in a high level aggressive location, beat/escape all the predators and raid bosses and go smurfing in pvp in some low-level environment.
