@Gelatinousrube that's so good the leader doesn't use pronouns. I too find them a major hinderance because I know straightaway the audience isn't going to be receptive to my lesbian centered fiction- while my novel isn't alt history, I intentionally keep men at the periphery- even when their horrible actions affect my main characters. Everything I do is like that- men exist, but only vaguely, as a hazy idea best not thought on for very long. Totally agree pronouns are actually devisive. Okay, if a transperson is very insistent we gender them correctly- I won't use those pronouns, but if they want to put them out there, fine. But biological men & women who clearly reflect such is so fucking stupid. Like, Jimbo, we all see your adam's apple. We know you are man. I don't care what you like to be "called"- save that shit for the bedroom, bro.

@Gelatinousrube that's how I live my life too! I haven't had an actual conversation with a man in IRL in gosh, it's been months. Not in 2021 for sure, I'd probably guess it was before Covid! The only words I've exchanged with men were my grocery delivery guys.White men are obsessed with the pronoun game. I have theories about this.

It's not my experience, so I don't feel it's my place. Here, however, in the United States, white men are notorious for their behavior regarding trans crap.

@lezpaulguitars @mieldejacaranda Personally, I use the word Lesbian proudly, & it is a signal to me when a lesbian uses the word gay that they likely have internalized the negative patriarchal attitude toward the word. Rather than fight back against the "porn" bullshit, they've given in, adopting a word used to refer to homosexual men. It kinda bugs me, TBH.

@1ammyb0dy LGB people with kids like myself fought so hard to have our families recognized in schools and these wingnuts have piggybacked their gross shit, riding our coattails. It really makes me angry, because when my tween was in first grade it was a MAJOR deal that the rainbow flag was in the library- and there were many LGB families in this red state school.
