@thomasfuchs I saw the phenomenon in the San Bernardino Mountains last week. A district that has not elected a Democrat to public office since 1967, that flies Trump flags and loudly proclaims that people ought to stand on their own two feet and not take public handouts, has been demanding FEMA help with snow removal.

@Teri_Kanefield @bigheadtales I've been impaneled as a juror in civil cases. Trust me, the jurors in the Dominion case have gone home singing and dancing, knowing they have their lives back because of the settlement.But what about the special master? Does that just disappear now?

The persistence of memory. Tabouli is my FIP survivor. She got an injection of a drug called GS-441524 at noon every day for 84 days. And she got a treat after every injection. Three years later she still demands a treat at noon, and she'll do whatever it takes to make sure I abandon the computer and pony up the treat. #CatsOfMastodon #caturday

@futurebird I'm not an audiobooks person (I don't want someone else's voice between me and the book) but my sister, who had a hellish two-hour commute every day, was ecstatic to discover Georgette Heyer (she died in the early '70s) on audiobooks. My sister claims that those audiobooks, of that author who died 50 years ago, saved her sanity.

I love my back garden. For more than half the year, it's a weedy mess--but this spring has been cool and mild and the roses have been very happy. We're going to near 100 degrees over the next two days, and most of these roses will cock up their toes. But today, it's mighty pretty.

@futurebird That's an interesting point. I know a few gay men who definitely have a "gay" way of speaking (and many gay men who do not)...but of the many lesbians I know, I can't think of any who have a specific "accent."
