@dick_turpin The one I get most often is "I think I have a virus because I don't know what these pop ups are for". It's because they're going to shady sites and not using the built in adblocker/popup blocker in Chrome and Windows 10 hooks into it to throw notifs. Not like nsfw shady but ones that have a lot of ads/popups. I end up turning the notifs for everything in W10 off and they're happy after.

@randynose One of my favorite shows since the 2000s. I'm just waiting for the bots and arena to get bigger (such as using those machines with the giant saws that cut limestone) or maybe even remote mechs. It'd be interesting if something like this was implemented like in some anime where countries don't wage wars, but compete in things like this to determine things (not to say that some would not try to find ways to cheat).

@theprivacyfoundation No, it's the idea that followers equals physical and self worth. The only thing close to "productive conversations" in that would be ones with close family/friends since the whole (I can't leave FB because my kids are on it and it's the only way we talk, etc.) Basically the "FOMO" or fear of missing out expression.

@kev giving it another try myself. Typically I go for XFCE or Gnome, but I keep hearing about how awesome KDE is so I figured I'd give it more than a 2 hour try this time.

@fatboy If only. I've been a quality over quantity person for a long time and find that this applies very well to the FOSS world. Just because one "can" make a fork or respin of something does NOT mean they should. I really wished all the effort put into forks and respins were spent on the upstream item instead to make it better for all. I mean the majority of distros are just a respin of Ubuntu with a different theme/icon/wallpaper pack and different name and nothing of actual substance.

@Linux4Everyone Re-eval my DE choice as Gnome is OK, but been looking back at KDE and XFCE as pathways to go back to instead. Not sure yet. Also still throwing around the idea of some sort of NAS with Nextcloud or something like that

@Venn Fieros and old beetles, Great for kitcar builds. Used to see a ton of listings online of Fieros turned into Lambos with a few Ferraris sprinked in.
