@kev giving it another try myself. Typically I go for XFCE or Gnome, but I keep hearing about how awesome KDE is so I figured I'd give it more than a 2 hour try this time.

@kev Give it a shot for sure. It's come a very long way since the buggy arrival of KDE 4. The basic apps like dolphin (file manager) and okular (pdf viewer) are top notch IMO.

@kev I switched back to KDE a few weeks ago and it's great. I switched to GNOME when I got my current laptop because KDE's high DPI support sucked at the time, but it's better now... except XWayland applications look blurry so I still use Xorg

@kev KDE is nice. Full of customizability and features. I personally had issues with plasmashell crashing and multi monitor setups not working consistently though. Its a great DE otherwise though.

@kev Just switched to it myself, on Manjaro. I did a whole re-theming to Dracula theme all around, and it's really nice: dark, but very usable.

@kev I love KDE, but when I put it on my new computer at Christmas it kept freezing every 10 - 20 minutes, inexplicable, Neon and Kubuntu. I have a Radeon graphics card. Tried different renderers etc. Anyway, I love it, I hope you don't have issues!

@kev I did a few months ago, but somehow it just did not feel right. Can't really explain why.What I do remember is that I got annoyed by the amount of software that has dependencies on gnome packages. For instance gnome-keyring is required by many.

@chmod700 I’ll probably just play with a live USB first. I’m not going to blow away my Ubuntu install any time soon. I’ve heard lots of good things about KDE recently thought.

@lurquhart I like the look of it, but when I've used it in the past it's been really unstable for me.The app installer (Discover?) was garbage for me and crashed ALL THE TIME.
