@thenewoil it's getting increasingly difficult to believe things that may also be anti-China propaganda. i have way more concerns about spying by the USG and its corporate overlords than i do about anything china's doing.

@killyourfm @thunderbird i'm a contributor and really thankful for Thunderbird's existence. It has allowed me to easily get away from Google/Gmail, as well as use PGP/GPG in a relatively painless manner.

@thenewoil In the past Zoom claimed its sessions were end to end encrypted. They were caught lying about it. I see no reason to trust their statements. Who would opt-in and consent?

@thenewoil i don't understand these responses. what does the linux foundation have to do with google's app store security problems? teaming up with google is dangerous. google's money can steamroll the linux foundation. seems to me linux foundation's more natural association would be promoting F-Droid and its open source apps.

@thenewoil @Tutanota in the usa privacy policies are essentially misleading advertising. virtually every one of them has a binding arbitration clause. arbitrators are, by their very nature, highly inclined to side with the big players. big players are repeat business, which isn't the case for individual customers.

I'm a member of the Greater Chicago branch of #iww , and this coming Wednesday, May Day, we'll again be laying roses at the Haymarket Martyrs monument in Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park Illinois, a Chicago suburb. A verse or two of 'Solidarity Forever' will be sung, then we proceed to a party afterward at a local watering hole.
