#Lego made a Video to explain to kids why they track them. How do you feel about this?https://www.lego.com/en-us/kids/legal/privacy-policy-short#privacy #PrivacyMatters

@Tutanota The problem is that the video is a lie. "We keep your data safe," says every company who had a data breach, right after they start with "we take your privacy and security very seriously" (obviously fucking not or else we wouldn't have had a data breach). They also say they never share data - and while I understand this is aimed at kids so it's not gonna address stuff like police requests - I'm willing to bet if I check the actual privacy policy that's a lie.

@Tutanota It's clearly a PR move. I mean, think about it. "Go get your parents and have them watch it, too." What good does that do? It's useless. It doesn't actually tell them anything either, nor does it provide any links to say "hey parents, learn more details here." It's just a cute video to make people feel warm and fuzzy. It's as fake as the lego guy starring in it.

@thenewoil @Tutanota in the usa privacy policies are essentially misleading advertising. virtually every one of them has a binding arbitration clause. arbitrators are, by their very nature, highly inclined to side with the big players. big players are repeat business, which isn't the case for individual customers.

@among @Tutanota According to Brave, only 2 - both from Lego - and half what the main "lego.com" site has.Surprising. I def would've expected more. On the other hand, Lego's parent company is one of the largest in the world (second in their industry only to Disney) so I guess they can afford to cut out the middleman.
