       @Parapuppy "I'm pro-para unless acting upon your desires would be morally wrong" is usually the stance they take, in which case they sorely misunderstand what being pro-para even is while shitting on the term's origins.

       @KatieCruz @Parapuppy now that i think about it, im not 100% positive i know what the dictionary definition is of paraphilia, but i've always been under the impression it was just an abnormal sexual/romantic preferencemap, necro, zoo, plush toys, inanimate objects, fictional characters... etc

       @grumpy @KatieCruz @Parapuppy the current SCIENTIFIC definition of a paraphilia is “intense and persistent sexual interest other than sexual interest in genital stimulation or preparatory fondling with phenotypically normal, phys­ically mature, consenting human partners” (DSM). It's not considered inherently dangerous or illegal. The POPULAR PSYCHOLOGY definition of a paraphilia does involve danger, immortal, or illegal activities. Because, while research doesn't recognize a kink or a fetish as something separate from a paraphilia, a number of pro sex positivity blogs define a kink as an atypical sexual interest, a fetish as an exclusive atypical sexual interest, and a paraphilia as a dangerous or disordered sexual interest. The COMMUNITY definition of a paraphilia is just a non normative attraction besides LGBT attractions.

       @grumpy @KatieCruz @Parapuppy well, I find the first one and the last one synonymous, if we simply add more attractions than just sexual. I do dislike the second one a lot, because these people made it up as an excuse to say that ageplay kink is okay, but pedophilia is a no-no.
