       @ariadne I have a Logitech G602 wireless mouse. It has 8 side mouse buttons which was good during my Minecraft days, but honestly my number one requirement was absurdly long battery life. I bought it around the time the Magic Mouse was redesigned and became a laughingstock ("okay yes you need to flip it over to charge it, but at least you only have to do that like once every 2 weeks"), and I wanted something with a multi-year battery life. And indeed, I think I've needed to take the batteries out and charge them like 3 times in the last decade.

       YouTube just gave me an in-progress Professional Women's Hockey League game between Minnesota and Montreal, and you know what, sure!Ironically, this plays into a story I told a few weeks ago here which got some traction, that during my job at a dialup ISP in the 90s, I was responsible for streaming local USHL hockey games by plugging the radio into my desktop and sending it to RealBroadcaster.Part of it involved muting the input while ad breaks were on. Obviously, because the ads are being sold for RADIO, not the INTERNET. Not going to give free advertising if someone's not getting paid.... But why isn't someone getting paid? Even today, live sports broadcasts online have that "AD BREAK IN PROGRESS" title. (Another one just came up as I'm typing this.) Why isn't the broadcaster selling ad blocks specifically for online distribution? Why isn't capitalism capitalizing the opportunity?        @ariadne And since they're doing so, it's always good to point out:If a company offers you a buyout, immediately take it. It's guaranteed subsequent waves of offers and then the eventual layoffs will never be as good as the initial offer.

       @ariadne Codeberg's cool. I spent a few weeks moving all my stuff from GitHub to Codeberg... though I'm currently moving it all again to self-hosted Forgejo, because Reasons (keep going "I really need to write a blog post"). But I still support what Codeberg's doing.I've migrated everything from GHA to Woodpecker. But yeah, you'll essentially need to handle your own CI runners whether Woodpecker or Forgejo Actions, and if Woodpecker, you may as well run your own coordinator.

       @ariadne Almost. I once ordered a Domino's pizza with every type of cheese, but at the end it asked if I wanted extra cheese. I had an idea in my mind of a massive amount of cheese, and didn't want to bump it up to a ludicrous amount of cheese, so I said no. I was disappointed in the amount of cheese which arrived.Apropos of nothing, an old partner had a pork intolerance, and she introduced me to a solid Domino's combo for the (at the time) 2 for $5.99 each:1) Pizza, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese, beef, provolone cheese2) Spinach and feta garlic bread

       @ariadne I would totally do orange on a vehicle. But not that orange, and not that vehicle.Though my theory is the loudness should be inverse to how interesting the vehicle is. Bright orange or yellow wouldn't be as effective on my Ioniq 5 because it's already a kinda weird car. But you can totally throw Safety Orange on a Hyundai Sonata.

       @ariadne How does the redundant coverage work? I have have another MVNO which gives me t-mobile which is great like everywhere except this one specific campground where every major provider works except t-mobile, and I legitimately have a travel esim for when I'm there.

       @ariadne Ah okay thanks, I'll consider that in a year. I've got Boost (t-mobile) for my primary line ($25/mo + $10/mo for hotspot), and just started another year of "no strings attached" Spectrum (verizon) free service for a year on the secondary esim, where the string attached is you need to call them up in 11 months and scream at them until they cancel the service, and then in a year they'll offer you a free year again.

       @ariadne Dresses would be a bit too long for me since I'm usually sitting cross-legged or legs splayed out and it would be annoying to be constantly readjusting for modesty. (Hmm, have dresses plus jeans ever been a fashion trend?)On the other hand, I recently discovered butt-length t-shirts and 10/10 very comfortable.
