       @itsfoss honestly it's the Windows figure that seems divorced from reality. My work PC hovers at 9 GB used before I even open an app. Add to that the 1.5 GB reserved by the onboard GPU and I quickly hit virtual memory by opening the mandatory electron apps.

       @TechConnectify So this is a weird thing that I do but ... before I stopped using my Palm Pre I copied off all the fonts and sounds. I still use the Palm Guitar sound as my alarm clock tone. I really loved how much work went into the sound design on that OS.

       @itsfoss lol I'm old. Ubuntu didn't come out until after I'd graduated college. I started with Slackware, for the most part. Linux was really unstable back then so after that I went to Solaris (I also got a secondhand Sparc 5).I didn't come back until years later with Ubuntu MATE because I needed something really lightweight for an old laptop.

       @vwestlife I'm gonna say I think you're off-base here. These look like pretty typical newspaper ads. The left is a very traditional print style, and the right is just what happens when a fresh-out-of-college graphic designer doesn't understand the concept of bleed. It has actual photos of the place, though, and very little else of that ad is "deisgned." It's just sans-serif fonts and two logos.Bet it looks good on the screen, though.

       @Gargron They really need to pick a lane: artificial obsolescence OR hyper-inflated hardware due to scarcity.We really can't take being told to buy a new phone every year when phones are starting to cost as much as used cars.
