       @rail @LunaDragofelis @ielenia but that's because people violate laws, and also because the smell of weed is in its volatile organic compounds, spreading in a completely different way from how cigarette smoke smell is spreading (and staying)

       @rail @yassie_j @mia meanwhile one reasonably good thing Russia did is banning all indoor smoking in places open to public, like 20 years ago. And the ban actually works! Sadly they went a bit too overboard with it (because there is literally no feedback loop between the people and the government), so that law also banned such things as, for example, smoking in outdoor terraces of restaurants (even if restaurant would organize a separate fenced smoking area; smoking in restaurants and cafes etc is prohibited period), and, as my own personal favorite demonstrating the unreasonableness of Russian government, it banned smoking in the dedicated smoking rooms in airports.

       @mia @yassie_j @rail even in SG it's only banned on one street IIRC? And even on that street there are areas where smoking is allowed, kinda like these yellow squares on DB rail platforms.
