       @luci Hi, for the moment it still does, as we haven't finalized Murena Maps. Though the default app on /e/OS is free, we want to replace it as soon as possible. Murena Maps is in Beta at the moment. Let us know, if you want to try it!

       @murena ok, thanks for answering! I understand the default app on /e/OS is free as in "gratis", but is it free as "libre"? from what I know the code is not open. Anyway, where can I get Murena Maps beta? do I need a Murena account? Thanks for offering!

Please take a look at our documentation: https://doc.e.foundation/os/apps/maps/You'll see that, although Magic Earth is not open-source, it is privacy-respecting and they share their values in a statement. For us, it was the compromise to have a well functioning app for daily use. Underneath you'll also see how to participate in Beta testing of Murena Maps (not account needed).
