       The next person that rants about good old “shot in camera, no CGI, practical sets and effects” gets pushed into the pigs mud.Who gives a shit. Did it make you feel something? Did you have empathy with the characters? Is the story engaging? No amount of retro film stock grain is going to do that for you. Use what works.(ex film lecturer here: by graduation I hoped to have them put down the camera and write/draw a decent story).#movies

       @lardmotel To be fair, a crappy effect can take you out of the story sometimes, but I suppose good effects can do that as well. Not a big fan of all these pretentious aspect ratios that seem to have crept into TV progs and ads in recent years for no reason (4:3 or 2:1).Been rewatching Red Dwarf recently, which tried to do ambitious sci-fi (models, VFX, etc) within the confined context of a multi-camera sitcom shot on video... so it looks a bit ragged now, but hey, the characters and gags work.
