       i've been struggling a lot to make USB-C DisplayPort alt-mode work on the RK3588 MNT Pocket Reform with MB2.0, incl. charging and USB hub functions of the monitor, all over a single cable. this included partially reverse-engineering and implementing the vendor defined messages (VDM) for activating these modes in system controller firmware, and patching RK3588 drivers. it's not yet 100% reliable, but when it works, it's quite nice

       @mntmn this is so cool! It's serious level of refinement.Don't take this the wrong way, but I would never have expected to find this feature on an Open Hardware laptop.

       @nicorikken afaik two things: 1. power role swap doesn't work correctly yet, so when the lottery (DRP toggle) determines we start as SRC instead of SNK, a monitor/dock will request pr_swap after initial handshaking and i'm doing something wrong when accepting it, leading to PD reset -> loop.2. SI isn't good enough for some cable/monitor combinations, esp. at high clocks, probably needs redriver chip (can put on internal flex cable)
