       If you're wondering how much YouTube's new rule that long-form video views are counted from the very first frame, even on auto-plays and thumbnail hovers, is inflating view counts, at least in my case, it's by a factor of almost 2X compared to the traditional way of counting (which they now call "engaged views", and what is still used to determine how much you get paid in ad revenue, so it's not like we all suddenly got a big raise).

       @vwestlife I used to purchase a lot of ad time on YT.  I wonder how they're using this to inflate ad costs without delivering more "engaged views"
