       @stux I've seen a few tetris videos in recent weeks and what impresses me most is how great their sportsmanship is. That's not something you'd normally expect from video game competitions.

       @stux I remember over 30 years ago I got my hands on a pirated tetris and played it on a PC TX with the legendary amber Hercules display. Very soon I noticed that I could not get myself to fall asleep because falling bricks would play out in my head. It was one of the worst mental experiences in my life. To this day I keep myself away from tetris. Congrats to those young people who can apparently receive 0 pts damage.

       @stux it's impossible to use normal held inputs to move that fast (that's what the das technique referred to)you have to push the arrow rapidlydoing this was called hypertapping, and done naively, would cause repetitive stresshowever, nearly every player does it now with a different technique, rolling: you hold a finger over the d-pad and tap the opposite side of the controller with 3 or 4 fingers in a rapid wave motion, which is both much faster and far less strenuous

       @stux @thickurt TIL thing exists, and I could watch this all day. I was hooked on Tetris 99 on Switch for a good minute. Never felt such a rush when I came in at #3
