       @bytebro @bazkie @nixCraft Turns out there are a few that are specifically designed to move away.  I'm probably going to give Devuan a shot as soon as I can as it sounds like it's very close to pure Debian in every other way.  They have a page listing several distros that are not based on systemd (or at least have an easy option to switch):  https://www.devuan.org/os/init-freedomDistrowatch themselves popped up to suggest it and a couple of others.

       @wwahammy I just realized what the scariest thing about this truly is.  It's not even just that they're doing all this.  It's how FAST they're pushing it through while ignoring any and all opposition.  Like basically a lot of people already have it on their systems right now probably just from automatic or frequent manual updates.This one person in particular seems to have made it a crusade to put age-gating into Linux and is doing PRs all over the place in a hurry, many of which are just being evaluated by Claude rather than real humans (well, I guess a big XZ-style exploit but even worse has been found in this process.)  Just like that, a thing that invades user privacy to comply in advance with a law in one very specific area that can't legally be applied to people outside it is in.

       @slanderoid I thought it has been on there for a little while now?  At least a few weeks?I'll stick to my PS1 version though.  I can play that on virtually anything.

       @gamequotes You know, I really enjoy this game a lot and there is a lot it does really great, but the whole "if you touch it you automatically drink the poison" thing was actually kind of not cool.Like, you know...  maybe... don't drink the poison?  Please?See how they set it up so if you miss the jump to get on the ledge there you fall into it...  (The jumping in this game is very harsh.  It's like Castlevania 1 but worse.)
