       Right, so it would be nice to do a BSD version of https://codeberg.org/landley/toybox/src/branch/master/mkroot and I was thinking maybe https://codeberg.org/NerdNextDoor/CoffeeBSD might be relevant to learning how (because BSD doesn't have kernel or libc source packages, it traditionally works like a soldered together ipad not an assemble-from-parts whitebox PC the way Linux does: domain expert help modularizing it would be great).I've done a thread with @mrmasterkeyboard and @hexaheximal about it, but recently realized it was all private messages.

       @mirabilos @hexaheximal @mrmasterkeyboard @imil about 2/3 of toybox runs on freebsd and macos now. I want to use a bsd kernel in mkroot.
