       Despite being very different kinds of stories, Game of Thrones and Walking Dead really nailed a similar concept.They both had a large ensemble cast where everyone had actual importance to the plot. Rather than having a small main cast and a supporting cast with much less depth, everyone had a role in a separate plot thread that intersected with the main plot. This is how they were able to kill major characters abruptly and actually make us feel something about it without harming the momentum of the story. Most others would have characters either too minor to care about much or so major that it derails the entire story if they're gone.Early Game of Thrones made Ned Stark feel like the main character, until he suddenly died and set in motion all the bullshit (I say that lovingly) that defined the story.

       @Burrson I didn't like it as much because it's more apocalyptic but it's definitely worth a try if you enjoy GoT and don't mind the zombie apocalypse genre.
