       @duckwhistle @fribbledom Information accessible to experts is still information.A register map for an obscure chip is a piece of information, even though it's accessible only to experts.These days, even if it's on the internet, it's likely impossible to find.What's easy to find is an article that pretends to know something but doesn't actually say anything.

       @p nah, not even that.Imagine you were searching for a study on trying to get owls to draw something.What you'll find is 10s of "how to draw an owl" articles that say "There are many reasons to want to write an owl - it could be a hobby, a challenge, or maybe you just like owls. In order to draw an owl, you need a piece of paper, a drawing tool such as a pencil, and then you need to draw an owl. How to actually drawn an owl: just drawn an owl. See! That was easy!"

       @fribbledom sometimes I go for Voltaire with his snappy "the multitude of books is making us ignorant." But why not Diderot tonight? "The number of books will grow continually, and one can predict that a time will come when it will be almost as difficult to learn anything from books as from the direct study of the whole universe.
