       i disagree  that getting  rid  of  gnu dependency on  linux based  systems  is purely a  technical  decision .  to me it  has  the  same weight  as keeping out  projects  such as  XLibre.  however  it is  much harder  tk keep  gnu out,  since so much  stuff needs it  for one reason or another,  but still providing  actual tools as the  default one is  already enough

       @fiore the main thing is gnu isn't a monolith, some parts are bad, some are good, removing dependencies purely because gnu is in the name is not a good strategy

       @SRAZKVT i agree that it  isnt  but looking  under the  surface  i have  almost inevitably found a  cultural environment  mostly made up  of  people that  mistake their  chuddiness  for  “apoliticism”  and  “free software movement”  , and  this latest  parallel thing is  literally just  the cherry on  top .  really ,  do you rlly blame  me for  not trusting  someone  who is  willing  to associate  themselves  with these people ,  among which RMS  mind you?

       @fiore permissive licensing is literally what the corporate overlords are encouraging (see: literally every tech company doing ‘we le open sourced our heckin proggerinos’) because it means they can exploit people For Free instead of having to pay them some pittance of a wage. so i’m pretty fucking wary when people say “we need to get rid of the coreutils and de-gnuify everything and release it under the hecking bootlicker license because uhm didnt you know viral licenses make it harder for microsoft to embrace and extend !!  they would NEVER extinguish they promised they wouldnt!!
