       I've been pondering this on and off for a few months now so I decided to take the plunge and got the thing.  20€, plus 6€ for shipping.it's unserviced so I can look to a few more expenses—gotta figure out where to get a new belt, scrounge a couple more batteries, and of course procure more tapes than the 01 tape I have (this album https://kotzschmerztablette.bandcamp.com/album/live-love-laugh from local feminist punk band „kotzschmerztablette“ which I got after watching them live).  eventually when the budget allows for it I'll scavenge a decent tape deck so I can record tapes out of my bandcamp collection and online music too, but right now part of the fun for me is exactly to try and make do with whatever tapes I can find for cheap in local flea markets and music stores

       ah this is cool—nothing doable on ebay and other big sites but this highly specialist shop from Slovakia has the exact model of belt for five bucks plus shipping:https://fixyouraudio.com/product/belt-toshiba-kt4116/they also have a bunch of other useful-looking repair gear for walkmans so I'm exercising all my willpower not to splurge on DIY fixit consumerism rn
