@tyil I don't have problem with regularly exercising even managed to continue when out for bit of traveling, what gets me is no space which gym would solve but I've never been to one and would feel out of place there. My main concern is protein, workout without it would mean getting weaker since no muscle rebuild. >sitting at my desk all day and shitposting I'm sure.I do body weight stuff right in my room it's so easy to take shitposting break in between sets.

@tyil @menherahair @Zergling_man @Pi_rat "1 line of text" is a client issue, especially with ircv3. the protocol is fine. one thing that IS missing is some standard way to work over flaky connections, tcp isn't that great for this. constantly reconnecting is annoying.

Multiple lines sent still become multiple lines on the receiving end. It really feels like dreaming up issues as an excuse to use worse chat platforms.flaky connectionsYeah, this is kind of an issue, the de-facto solution is to use a bouncer on a more stable connection. Its not great from a usability perspective, but since most IRC users are techies, it doesn't appear to be a huge issue in practice. It would be nice to see a better solution than "rent a server and use that".

If I look at Matrix rooms, its used more as a forum where its just huge swaths of text, which wouldve been a better fit in, well, an actual forum, or maybe a mailing list.To take the definition of "chat", according to WM:Verb:to talk in an informal or familiar mannerNoun:idle small talklight informal or familiar talkThese definitions do not align with large swaths of text, so they are literally not "chat". They can be discussions, formal or informal, but thats different, and we already have something for this, discussion forums. IRC however is actually for chat, its right there in the name, Internet Relay Chat. People spamming or otherwise disrupting a channel with a large amount of text all at once is not, by definition, chat.
