       If you're a puddle of sweat, check and make sure your deodorant has aluminum in it. no it's not unsafe to use. it's literally just a salt that dries out your skin. If you have a fragrance allergy, try an alum block, it's literally a brick of the active ingredient used in antiperspirant. aluminum free deodorant in the amount it is at now is basically popularized based on fraud to get people to spend more on frankly worse deodorant that's missing a key active ingredient.

       @Jes Ok but I'll be honest, aluminum is a metal, and the idea of putting flecks of metal on my skin is weird.It doesn't scare me, so I still use it, but I can understand the perspective. Calling it by its chemical name would help. Education helps even more, which you've done here.

       @Paradox I mean you also need iron in your blood and gold is edible, so I mean metal in or on your body isn't a bad thingas well aluminum salts is naturally in water in small amounts so you've been ingesting the same thing you've been putting on your skin for ages and haven't had any adverse reactions to it because it's benign

       @Jes Iron in my blood makes sense because I've learned how it works. Gold being edible is weird to me, although it's true in the same way eating gum is fine.There's a difference between thinking you're spreading metal in your pit and knowing it's a type of salt, microscopic, that seals your pores.We use it to make food cans. You can see the difference between "you're putting aluminum on your skin" and "you're putting aluminum chlorate salts on your skin", yeah?

       @nemalixi mostly I'm saying that aluminum-free should only be used if the alternative irritates your skin, not because some quack told you it's bad to put metal in your body.It's far more popular than it *should* be because of said quacks. Also makes no sense for there to be fragranced aluminum-free deodorants. The entire point of not having aluminum is for sensitive skin which kinda makes it moot, although I guess the fragrance will counteract with the amount of swamp ass you'll have because it's not actually stopping the sweat in the first place which is where the stink is
