       I distinctively said “grunions” into the microphone but the messages app speech to text system, a supposedly harmless piece of what is actually a fundamentally fascist technological project that flattens out human individuality and replaces it with a dull sameness, changed it to “green onions”

       @hannah and the only thing this associated with in me is that research where they taught participants to recognize non-human figurines with various protrusions (which iirc they also called "grunions"? And maybe figurines were also green? Don't remember) and then observed that participants' ability to recognize human faces sharply dropped, to almost zero.Unfortunately with the current state of web search it's borderline impossible to find that paper.
