       AP's piece on Reflecting Pool algae is a perfect of example of how Big Journalism allows itself to be a conduit for Trump world's lies.        @dangillmor It's a pattern I'd call "deference to authority". Don't be seen to be challenging what the leaders say.If the author had originally written "Trump invents a story about vandalism to excuse his incompetent work on the Reflecting Pool", would his editor not feel pressure to tone that down ?Why ? Because the editor feels like the publisher would disapprove of the language ? Readers would be offended ?Let's ask them. Journalists should be the most transparent of all.
