       @eff Bots, Scrapers, Crawlers, & Agents are a bigger threat to the open web than websites & their owners who don’t want their work & art being stolen and don’t want their sites being treated to what are effectively Denial Of Service Attacks at times.How about the EFF goes and talks to artists, hobbyists, & more who’ve had their websites wrecked by endless scraping & bots what they think?

       Exactly. The same tools that let libraries archive and index public domain books are the ones getting caught in the crossfire here. You can't lock down scraping without breaking preservation.
