       @eff Will it work retroactively? because if so I would like to point them in the direction of a certain "commander in chief"...... unless of course it does not apply to government officials as is always the case with censorship in the U.S..

       @eff You say in your letter “We urge the Committee not to advance the NO FAKES Act in its current form,to examine how existing state and federal law already addresses the legitimate harms the billseeks to address, and to pursue narrowly tailored solutions only where a genuine gap remains.”How about you guys at the EFF and more who signed that letter actually talk about what you want people to be allowed to do in some of your articles?  Can you do that?  Can the EFF itself write an article that talks about how it would like people & the law do deal with, for example, blatant political propaganda deepfakes of the likes that are discussed in the letter?  How does the EFF want people to be able to seek due recompense for the legitimate harms that deepfakes create?  Write an article about that.
