       Elaborating on my personhood definition: a person is anything that's sapient, i.e. capable of thinking and feeling. Which applies to humans, transspecies creatures in human bodies, and probably at least mammals and birds. It would also apply to an AI that has achieved actual consciousness (which the currently existing LLMs are far away from, though) and intelligent extraterrestrial lifeforms.For example, I'm pretty sure house cats can think - they just don't speak human language and don't seem to be interested in proving their sapience to humans otherwise.

       @LunaDragofelis > they just don't speak human language And from what I heard it's quite ready to teach them (at least in kittenhood) to communicate with humans in more complex ways than just emotions conveyed via body language.(Like all these cat keyboards.)
