       i personally believe that after your open source software project becomes something depended on by millions for important things, you are morally obligated to create some sort of organization to steward it, so that you are not a single point of failure (including failing to make good decisions for the project because your own goals differ)if i ever make anything like that, which ends up on any significant fraction of OS installs, this is what i will do

       if you make something useful, the community shouldnt be obligated to fork it when you later want to do something they dont want. that obligation now rests on you
