       i successfully taught my housemates how to do almost-Shamir's-Secret-Sharing with pen and paper, so that they could, together, determine the new PIN number to my android tablet and unlock it, as fun exercise

       the only notable difference between the simple version and the real version is that you do all the math modulo a big prime number, in order to prevent a potential attacker from recovering some small number of the lowest significant bits of the secret and/or reducing the possible search space
