       @brettm@swarm.coiloptic.org ooof yeahthe timeframe is so compressed basically everything would have to go perfectly to make it, and it's pretty clear that neither spacex nor blue origin are capable of that. but i could see the regime forcing nasa to go ahead with a human landing attempt even if major components haven't been tested

       @brettm@swarm.coiloptic.org oh wow, i didn't realize they eliminated test flightsthis time the risk paid off, but it's only going to get riskier from here. future missions are much more complicated and much more reliant on proven incompetent companies spacex and blue origin. and frankly the whole thing seems stupidly overcomplicated. like, why did they think that 10-20 refueling missions to reach the moon makes any sense at all
