       @gmc OMFG how did i forget Usenet! I know how, back whenever you needed uucp or internet and i didnt have those things then, but i did have a usenet feed to home in 1998, thrn its kinda got lost...But yeah command line readers for the mostly chat snd support and such is just great. Why is no one talking about usenet? We fkn need to. Its loosely decentralizable, i would have to go rtfm. Maybe you have already.Theres the alt. heirarchy too. Oh hells yes lets talk about this!!! Revive and adapt to new circumstances. Our tech is so much better now! Dammit im gonna seriously consider this.

       @tomjennings There's currently some work on inn, one of the (if not the) last nntp servers around on modernising its architecture a bit. Nothing radical like porting it to nodejs or some idiocy like that, but implementing some more modern asynchronous techniques.

       @gmc I plan on going through the state of the art and get a handle on how it works. I never really paid attention.To me though the store and forward brings many advantages, though I understand for frequent or live stuff it probably brings in a lot of overhead and disk thrash.Oh $DIETY please let's keep it written in C.
